She also has experience as a Family therapist in the Multi-Systemic Treatment project in Philadelphia funded by the Medical College of South Carolina research project. The Multi-Systemic Family therapy research program primarily worked with adjudicated youth who were at risk for out of home placement. Ms. May has a unique quality of engaging the most difficult families in a way that empowers autonomy, challenges maladaptive behaviors, and promotes generalizability. During participation in this program, she was also trained in the skill of utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy with the families that were serviced.
Currently she is working as a Couples and Family Therapist with Germantown Psychological Associates, where she has continued her development in reshaping individuals and families through therapeutic interventions. Furthermore, Ms. May provides a variety of behavior shaping and culturally sensitive trainings throughout the Philadelphia area with other professionals and colleagues in the field.
